Our largest ever team, eighteen strong, visited Southampton on a unseasonably warm Sunday for November to compete in the Southampton Samurai Championships. This club is a highly regarded BJC club and the competition attracts entrants from a wide area including as far north as Leicester.
We came away with six Gold, five Silver and five Bronze. A total of 16 medals which put us in second place in the medal charts, immediately behind the 'home team', the Samurai - who fielded a larger team.
Below are videos of some of the contests, both wins and loses. They are worth studying to see what works well and what does not. Particular attention to the times we lost and the lessons that can be learned from them will pay dividends in the long run.

Elliot
In a text book example of Uchi Mata, Elliot gets his preferred grip with his left hand around the opponents back and attacks with this throw scoring Ippon.
