The club is fortunate in being led by instructors of considerable expierience both in terms of Judo and teaching.  Roy, who founded the club in 1976 has a background of almost half a century of Judo and more than forty years of coaching.  He guides the other instructors in teaching a 'traditional' style of Judo where good clean technique is preferred in what is now called 'Ippon Judo'.

As a club working within the auspices of the British Judo Council (BJC), we abide by the organisations rules and regulations and enjoy access to the full range of courses and facilities that are available.  The BJC, led by its President, Robin Otani Sensei carries on the tradition started by Otani Sensei's father and Kenshiro Abbe, the founders of the BJC.  We are proud to be part of this and take a full active role in the BJC family.

All of our instructors are CRB checked and hold current certificates.  Both Roy and David have current FPJ1 & FPJ2 certificates (Fundemental Principles of Judo) as well as current First Aid and Referee Certificates.

Coming from a varied background, all four are joined by their love of Judo both to teach and partake.  They get a hell of a kick out of watching their students grow in confidence and ability within the club.

In the Summer of 2007 Roy Sensei was awarded the Certificate of Service to Sport by Chiltern District Council in recognition of his 30 years of dedication to the teaching and coaching of more than a thousand children in the South Buckinghamshire area.
